"Escape from the world"

About: St Lukes Hospice

(as a service user),

Got cancer of the tongue. in June 2019. Went to doctor and A&E at Northwick Park hospital. Can't be cured. Decided not to have a 14 hour operation. Mt. Vernon referred me to hospice. I really like the hospice. I feel relaxed, get on with the people who come here and the staff are really good.

I can't eat but if I want a certain soup there is no problem.

I would like some help with a answers to questions I have about nutrition and what my body is doing. I need to have foods I can blend that will give me more energy. My mind is so active but my body needs help.

Hello. Thank you very much for sharing your experience of St Luke's Hospice with Care Opinion. We value your feedbacks and comments.

I am pleased to see that attending the Woodgrange Centre day services at St Luke's Hospice helps you to feel relaxed and that you appear to value the social aspect of the centre.

Nutrition and hydration are important for our physical and emotional well-being. The team at St Luke's Hospice recognise the challenges of eating and drinking faced by some people, like yourself and the impact the challenges have on overall well-being. In direct response to your comments regarding questions related to nutrition I will speak with members of the hospice team and explore the possibility of having a talk about nutrition and dietary needs.

Thank you for your feedback
