My teenage son suffered a head trauma in February and since then is suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome. He is depressed, suicidal and his whole personality has changed. He is screaming for help and we are being passed from doctors, and CAHMS. He needs to see a neurologist but the doctor can't seem to request this. We were referred to Paediatric Consultant by CAHMS to rule out head trauma before they investigate possible ADHD symptoms. Waiting list is 12 weeks. Doctor upgraded referral as urgent as my son attempted suicide twice recently. The request was returned. Letter said they couldn't offer anymore advise than what CAHMS were doing for his behaviour! Crosshouse Hospital have diagnosed him with Post Concussion Syndrome, how is that behavioural? My son needs help and no one is willing to help us obtain help. Something is going on inside brain and it is medical in my opinion. 12 weeks is nonsense to have to wait when you are lost inside your head and feeling suicidal and coping with being depressed.
