"Exceptional care and empathy in ICU"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Critical Care

(as a service user),

My father in law became acutely unwell last week and ended up in the care of the Intensive Care Unit in ARI.   Sadly he died, but the care delivered by the team was exemplary.   Special thanks to Dr Stott, Kirsty, Emma and Holly, the care you delivered could not have been improved.   You were honest with us, but showed compassion and empathy.   We know Bill was in the best possible hands, and that was evident  by our experience.   He may have only been with you a short time, but we as a family can not thank you enough.

Dear FMH

I am so sorry to hear that your father in law has passed away. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I hope how our staff worked and communicated with your family took some of the pain out of this very difficult situation.

I will ensure your kind words are shared with all concerned.

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.
