"Not fit for purpose"

About: Integrated Care 24

I called 111 at 8.45 in the morning on a Sunday) for my daughter who Had all the signs and symptoms of tonsillitis it was agreed we would get a call back from out of hours to get an appointment and would be seen within 6 hours we agreed the best contact to be my mobile not the landline as it doesn’t always ring. 3 hours later I called 111 again to say I had not heard anything. They said they would chase the call again I said please use my mobile. 13.30 still no call. I phoned 111 again who said they would contact the base centre which makes appointments but they could do nothing more. 15.30 I chase again 6 hours after my initial call. Again I was told there was nothing more they could do but log my call, again I said please set contact as mobile. Finally at 15.45 I get a call to my landline! which I only noticed because by the screen coming alive ( it doesn’t ring) the only appointment available was 7 pm nearly 12 hours after my original call. I would not recommend 111 the service doesn’t work and it’s clear relevant information is not logged or past on to the hub that actually makes appointments it’s unacceptable to wait all day for a call back when you have a very sick child.
