I am a dialysis patient attending three times a week for the last five years over that period of time the service has got progressively worse today my transport was an hour and a quarter late picking me up so I got to the ward at 7.30 I finally got put in at 8.05 after they realised the machine in my bay wasn’t working because no one had bothered to set it on disinfect because I was late being put on having sat on the bed for half an hour I could only do three and a half hours instead of four because of my transport home we normally get served tea and biscuits but this seems to have stopped with no information being passed to the patients this could be quite serious for some of the patients with diabetes who do not for one reason or the other have time for breakfast the few biscuits could stop their sugar from going low. Trying to get information from anybody in charge is impossible I want to transfer to another unit but no one is willing to listen to my complaints the cleanleness of the ward is somewhat questionable and there is often a shortage of blankets for the beds one member of staff insists on having the A/C on full blast icy cold no matter how many patients complain about the cold they are just ignored the problems I have listed have nothing to do with funding cuts but all to do with mismanagement my wife worked for the NHS for 27 years and she can’t believe the tales I tell her when I go hone
