"Treatment and care"

About: Derriford Hospital / Mustard Tree Macmillan Centre Derriford Hospital / Oncology Derriford Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer, 9 on the Gleason scale and very aggressive, my PSA level was rising quickly. On diagnosis I started my hormone treatment there and then and after several months I took the option of HDR Brachytherapy which went very well and then after 3 weeks I underwent 3 weeks Radiotherapy at Derriford. I had my 6 month check in November and my PSA levels have been steady at 0.01 for the last 6 months and was given the good news that I am in remission and they don't want to see me for 6 months.

I would like to thank Dr Sankey and his team for their time and care understanding  and their ongoing efforts in looking after me.
