(as the patient),

I have just spent 3 nights in Treliske hospital on Trauma 1. I have quite a lot of operations in Treliske.  The care I had here was fantastic.  The drs , nurses and HCA were the best I have ever had, Especially from Kay, Hannah and Stephanie couldn't have done anymore for me.  Unfortunately , there is always one person that lets the team down. 

I did have concerns for another patient in the bed next to mine. They had a broken hip and dementia.  This patient was asking  one of the night staff the time, repeatedly.  One of the members of staff, kept telling her to go to sleep and just kept getting louder telling the patient to go to sleep. The poor patient was in pain and confused & didn't deserve that.

Dear ChrisT,

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the delay in responding to you on here and to thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. I am pleased to read that you had fantastic care and that staff did everything they could for you.

However, it is saddening to read that you witnessed some problems with the treatment of the patient in the bed next to you on Trauma 1. I will ensure your feedback is shared with all relevant members of staff, as well as the Trusts' Dementia Lead, so that they can reflect upon this experience, both the negative and the positives.

I do hope you are recovering well.
