Fantastic care in a recent visit to the institute of neurological science for a nuclear brain scan. Mum's appointment time was down to the second it seemed, she was taken at the time stated on her appointment letter, everything described in enough detail that lay ahead for that day, and she was even shown the scanning equipment that would be used later and a brief description of what was to be expected so as to calm her fears (nuclear brain scan sounds terrifying, especially to someone with all sorts of other issues) the staff were so good at putting mum at ease, it seemed that took priority over actually getting the scan done.
The whole experience from a carers point of view is that the department itself were very efficient, time managed and very well run with the patient as the primary focus, and from the patient's view, everyone she came in contact with put her at ease, calmed her fears, and gained her trust and respect.
Thank you for making our long day a more relaxed and pleasant one. The appointment meant 8am til 6pm day spent mostly on buses and killing time between appointments, this meant that an efficiently run department made our day so much easier as it run to schedule. We even heard other patients in the waiting area comment on how well run and how lovely staff were with them... I hope some more of them take the time to comment and let you know what a good job you are doing so that you know you are appreciate.Thank you, you all made a nervous anxious time so much more relaxed and pleasant, much appreciated, thank you xxx
