"Poor communication from staff"

About: York Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My father, 93, being treated for heart failure. Poor communication from staff about treatment, investigations, plan. Though deaf he is intellectually alert but doesn't always hear what little is said. My mother, alert and active, also feels disempowered and uninformed.

Visitors' toilet outside ward 23 is neglected and unhygienic.
