"Worth their weight in gold"

About: Borders General Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Having been referred to BGH for a colonoscopy following a positive screening result I was understandably worried regarding the procedure. As a student nurse in the 1990's I had experienced a placement in endoscopy and thought I would be ok however it is different when you are the patient!   I cannot praise the staff on BGH endoscopy highly enough. From initial telephone contact with Gail I felt informed and supported from start to finish.   S/N Linda was so patient with me on the day and was with me all the way.   Thanks to all the team. They are doing an amazing job and worth their weight in gold. Thank you.

Dear sw8

Thank you very much for taking the time to use Care Opinion to share the details of your experience of visiting the Endoscopy department at Borders General Hospital.

I am so pleased to hear that staff made you feel at ease during an understandably worrying time. And I can only imagine that having had experience of what happens during an colonscopy from a student nurse perspective that it would have made it all the more daunting!

I have shared your story with Gail and Linda who will be delighted to hear that they are worth their weight in gold!

Thanks again,

Karen
