"My journey with the NHS"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Appliances & Orthotics Queen Margaret Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics Western General Hospital (Edinburgh)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to the western general august to prepare for operation on my neck. C6 / C7 cervical spinal cord milopathy. Had my operation in august. everyone one in the NHS were fantastic.

They took good care of me from the nurses to Mr Liaquat, Mr Kilpatrick to the registrar to the anaesthetist. Everyone was fantastic. After operation I got transferred to the Victoria hospital for physiotherapy. They were also fantastic. I was in the Victoria hospital from the Friday to the Tuesday. When I was discharged I was at home for a few weeks then I had visits from health visitors & occupational therapists. after that I went to Whitefield day centre for 6 months for rehabilitation where all the staff were also fantastic with me.  So that was my journey with the NHS. I hope this is put on the website for all the NHS staff who took care of me.

thank you to everyone at NHS

Dear bmwkenuk,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely message. I am so pleased that your journey was so smooth and that all the staff you came in to contact with have been instrumental in that.

I will ensure that the staff in DCN receive your feedback, but I know they will be really grateful.

Many thanks

Hi Pauline

I believe it was ward 45.They are fantastic guys in the NHS & if I could I would go to great lengths to support these guys, but with the spinal damage I have I can't.sorry. But I hope when the staff hear of this they will be in there elements.as I was when they looked after me.I have a lot of time for the guys & girls in the NHS. I can't speak about them enough.as they are underpaid for the extensive work that they do & are fantastic guys.

Kind regards K.
