I went to the practise in April to get my first smear test after receiving a letter as I turned 25. The procedure was absolutely fine and they put me at ease. 2 weeks later I received a call to say it was incorrectly labelled so I would have to wait 3 months before getting it done again. The lady did apologise and wasn’t sure how this happened.
I went in last Monday and we made sure it was correctly done, especially since the process changed at the beginning of November. This week I received a letter to say it was ‘unuseable’, no phone call to apologise or explain and no further information on the letter.
I am really disappointed that I will now have to re-book for a third time. It is highlighted that people of my age are urged to get smear tests as a lot of people are scared of the process and now unfortunately I will be passing my experience onto my friends. It is now a stressful experience for me and I don’t trust the practise to complete it properly for me.
It’s not hard to ring your patients to explain the situation.
