In having a AVM on the brain I attended outpatient dept to talk to a neurosurgeon about a possible 2nd opinion as to any form of treatment could be done. It took all of less than 2minutes to talk to the doctor (travelled 369 miles) to attend for something that could have been done on the telephone . Then to claim my fares back and having to pay for travel lodge for one night as could not get a room from the hospital .to be told because we did not take an esa letter Only a pip letter that they could not give us any help to pay for fuel to get back home another 369 miles!! Instead handed a form to be sent to dhss to claim ! This is out right shocking being on benefits and having my PIP letter stating I was disabled No payment could be made to us. Luckily we had a friend whom gave us our fuel money to get home .
