I’m writing to express my frustration with the service offered by the St. Bartholomew’s Hospital ultrasound Department this morning.
While on my way tho the hospital for my ultrasound appointment I’ve received a call from them cancelling my appointment. Sadly it was half hour before it. The person on the phone said the professional who was supposed to do my ultrasound called sick.
I felt really disappointed because I was waiting for this appointment for about 3 months going through hard pain caused by my condition.
I find this to be very poor and unprofessional as calling a patient a few minutes before the appointment to cancel it is totally wrong. The person on the phone informed that they didn’t have any other option other than making me wait for the next available appointment. I also had to wait for somebody to call me again to reschedule my appointment. After 15 minutes they called me to rebook my slot stating that my appointment was booked wrong. I tried to get the right information asking her how to such and important thing can be treated so wrongly. The reply was in my opinion full of attitude and arrogance.
I really felt that I was not important for them and it was even mentioned I should wait for this appointment for about 8 months or more but they would see what they could do as if that was a favour. Very impatient and didn’t bother to apologise for the mistake that had been made. I found it rude and unprofessional making my day very bad. By the experience I had, I truly believe there is a lack of the basics of customer service.
I’m happy to talk to someone to show that what I’ve gone through shouldn’t repeat to other patients.
