"An excellent team"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / General medicine

(as a service user),

I was admitted to Northampton General Hospital seen by the resus team. From the minute I arrived I was in my opinion given the best care by an excellent team of Dr's and nurses. They were outstanding particularly the stroke nurse on duty Catherine who explained everything to me and more importantly reassured me throughout the early stages of my treatment, a consummate professional. This high standard continued once I was transferred to Eleanor Ward, where once again the whole team were caring, respectful and professional at all times. I am not only speaking for myself but what I witnessed of the care of fellow patients who will no doubt have their own stories.

The whole ward team were fantastic during my relatively short stay, managed by senior nurse Debbie, who ran the team with great aplomb, her sense of humour was a great tonic. Although I realise she wasn't on duty during my whole stay she seemed to be around during my later stages of recovery.

I of course need to mention Dr Blake, who was obviously an extremely busy lady, who still made time in her schedule to explain everything to my family and myself.

In this day and age it seems the norm to find fault and criticise, in this particular case I felt I needed to share my praise, admiration and appreciation to the whole team.

Thank you
