I visited the department as was having a miscarriage and ward a23 advised me my only option was to go to a&e despite having seen them the previous week for a scan and my pain levels increasing. So it was quite upsetting to have to sit in a&e. The reception staff were lovely and said they would try to contact ward a23 to see if they would see me but I was a little disappointed they never came to find me to tell me what was happening and I was then called by a nurse who was very caring and advised I would need to wait to see a dr. The wait really wasn’t too long despite the number of people and the dr was really lovely and I wish I had her name to thank her. She reassured me and really took time with me despite how busy they were and I left with appropriate treatment for an infection. Thank you to all a&e staff but I would have like to seen the same care from the team in the early pregnancy unit as when I rang them in the morning to tell them about my symptoms they said I probably had flu and if I really couldn’t cope to go to a&e. As it turns out I had an infection so listening to their advice could have proved dangerous for me
