"Con trick parking."

About: Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We had to attend royal Preston hospital recently for x-ray. When leaving we went to pay & was waiting behind 2 other people also paying. They were a bit slow using the machines. Our turn to pay & I entered my registration & a photo of my car entering the car park came up with the time I entered showing. THAT IS WHEN YOU ARE CHARGED FROM. My charge was £2-50 for 32minutes. IF the charge started when I parked, not entered the car park & didn’t have to queue to pay, I would have been under the 30 minutes free parking time. At busy times you are being charged for driving around trying to find a parking space then being charged to queue to pay. What a con. How many people are being charged for the next level of charges because they were recorded as parked when in effect they were still searching for a parking bay? The rates being charged are extortion. When I complained I was told that any monies made by parking charges are all used by the hospital to improve treatments etc. Do parking eye run the parking for free ? No. Therefore all monies are not for the hospital (privatisation by back door) & secondly I’ve paid my national insurance & taxes to pay for my treatments without being ripped off if I happen to need hospital treatment. It says parking charges NOT charges for ENTERING the grounds. If the first hour was free & charges after that halved then I feel that would be a much fairer charge & only charged when you are parked NOT on entering the grounds. Also being charged extortionate parking rates for queuing to pay should be sorted out. After all I’m sure parking eye are raking in a tidy sum for enforcing this ripoff.
