"The worst experience of my life"

About: Charing Cross Hospital

The first time I visited this hospital/clinic, they had me waiting for four hours due to admin and staff errors. When finally seen by the surgeon, it was only to be told to book an MRI (something that could have been told to me on the phone, or email, or post, or through my GP). The surgeon promised next time they saw me they would have everything for me, my case was going to be reviewed and they would advise on next steps etc. Then I went back after a couple of weeks for the MRI (spending £40.00 in taxis so I wouldn't loose much time off work), and I was seen on time, that's fine. Then, after another couple of weeks, I went back to my appointment, today, at 11:45 (spending another £40.00 in taxis). After chasing and chasing nurses and admin staff, to make sure everything was OK and I was going to be seen at a reasonable time, I was seen after 2.5hr, this time not even by a member of the surgery team, but someone on their behalf to tell me to come back next week because my case had not been reviewed! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Why wasn't I called to rebook my appointment if my case hadn't been reviewed, why wasting another of my work and family days and my money just to tell me nothing? Disgraceful. Am I the unluckiest person ever or are they just useless? The NHS is in crisis?? I'm not surprised! Stop wasting your staff and patients time and be properly organised and it will get better. I'm working and paying taxes, so I'm paying your staff's salary, and I do deserve better. Nowadays there's no time or need to waste peoples time with trips to hospitals to be told nothing! Just call me or send me an email! So frustrating.
