"Fantastic, friendly, efficient service"

I visited A&E yesterday with my husband and the friendliness of staff, even before we had got into the building, was amazing. We looked lost and a member of staff asked if they could help. The receptionist in A&E was extremely friendly and welcoming. We were booked in at 9.00 and by 9.15 my husband had been seen by a nurse and then 10 minutes later a member of staff took his bloods. We were then seen by a lovely doctor who explained what may be wrong with my husband but needed confirmation from the blood tests to confirm. At one point we went to the wrong area and senior staff directed us to where we should have been which is something I haven't experienced before. After waiting for another half hour the same doctor came to the waiting area to explain to my husband that he had an infection and that a nurse would be bringing him some antibiotics. What a fantastic service he received and he is so grateful for the experience. On our way out we saw the same member of staff who had directed us to A&E and she asked if we had found it OK, she then directed us to the parking machine. Both myself and my husband have never experienced anything like this at any other hospital. Keep it up Barnsley, you are fantastic.
