"No Communication or organisation"

The staff on the floor are very helpful and they treated me with respect. However that is the only real good point, if you are suffering from depression or addiction you get lumped in with patients with severe mental illnesses this makes it very hard it would be a lot better if the wards were separated with patients with severe mental illnesses in one ward/wards and people with depression in other wards. The smoking policy is absurd and treats people like children forcing people to hide their cigarettes off site as you can't bring them onto the premises and not allowed to say you are going for a cigarette. Prohibition doesn't work but no doubt it won them some accolades or award from the NHS. The communication, organisation and leadership is virtually non existent meaning there are mistakes after mistakes made which makes your stay even harder. Lastly the staff seemed totally unaware of what patients think of the place and unaware of so many negative reviews preferring to cite the fact that it has achieved an excellent rating from the NHS but that is superfluous in the context of things if your clients don't like the place, any organisation needs to take account of their customers/clients/patients views if not who are they striving to serve?. I was given a care plan that was rendered useless as soon as I attended an appointment with the lead agency only to be told I don't know why they have sent you here there is not a lot we can do for you something I was constantly telling people and managers in there only to be told I was wrong. They mucked my discharge up and told me I was getting released on one day and then told me I was getting released on the day before in my doctors review saying you are released now. I was given a crazy rapid detox that was way too fast and it wasn't communicated to me how it was done I just turned up one day and they told me that you are finished on that drug. If somebody has an acute mental illness then it is the right place to be but if you have got addiction/ depression problems forget it to quote a lot of the patients in there hopefully I am never going back there unless I am sectioned. It gets 1 star for the mostly excellent staff at ground level.
