I see a consultant in the hospital and he forgot to give me a prescription. Several days I followed up and the consultant secretary advised she would send a letter and I pick up the prescription from this Greenlane medical practice, Finham. When the prescription was issued by this practice, I was given and injection instead of tablets , and the pharmacy did not have it and I only realised the mistake after collection of the prescription.
I called this practice at 10am to notify of this error and was told the GP would call before 5. I was desperate for the medicine and since the GP had not called by 5 to 5, I went over to collect the prescription only to be told it could not be prescribed as there is no shared agreement.
I asked the receptionist, how come it had been issued the first time and she was very rude, saying ‘ I didn’t take the call myself so I can’t say’. As a practice manager, aren’t you in charge of the receptionists and therefore should take responsibility of them? Isn’t there a way to know what happens to prescriptions from consultants so that the patient is not inconvenienced?
Very inefficient and rude reception manager whose management skills for efficiency is below par. Most of the other receptionist are normally good.
