"Taking things a day at a time"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Care of the Elderly (Wards 13-16)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 14

Doctors have spoken to me about everything that’s happening to me. Doctors have found a new drug to help me. I am just taking things a day at a time and hope the drugs work. They are always changing the bed sheets. The soup is lovely every day but could be warmer. Nurses are very good and compassionate. More Nursing staff is needed.

Dear Uhh147,

Thank you for the kind posting. I'm sure the staff will have escalated the issue with soup temperature at the time to our catering team.

Nurse staffing numbers are reviewed continuously and I will discuss again with the Senior Charge Nurse to ensure we are supporting the patients and staff appropriately.

Kind Regards

Gwen
