My baby was 12 days overdue so I was booked in for an induction and from the start of this journey in triage unit I received such good care and my own room which was much appreciated as I needed to spend a night. Nothing was too much of a bother and triage and the staff helped me and answered any questions I had. I was then moved on pretty quickly to labour ward where I had my own room yet again and encountered more brilliant staff. The midwife Vicki that was with me throughout my labour and delivery (and she stayed until after her shift had ended to see me through) was excellent. She put me at ease, made me feel very comfortable and was honest and frank in answering my questions, giving me all the information to make decisions myself. In the end I opted for an epidural and Vicki was mindful that I was in pain and was giving me updates on where the anethetist was and chasing them up. She definitely was looking after my best interest. During the final stages there was some complications and again the staff on the labour ward were excellent. A very experienced doctor came in to explain about the next steps, took control of the situation and ultimately allowed me to make the right decision to deliver my baby safely.
We are so grateful to the staff on the labour ward and all those we encountered in ARI and I only have positive feedback and memories of them.
