Been sent by the GP with a referral letter saying that I’ve got appendicitis. I got there, been seen by the A&e team in 1 hour where they said that next day I’ll have a surgery and then I’ve been waiting in the waiting room area for more then 5 hours just because there wasn’t a bed available for me in the ward. When I went to ask how long do I have to wait for they responded to me ironically saying “you’ll have a bed by 7;30 tomorrow morning”. How is this possible for someone in pain to be waiting the whole night on the chair and then to have the surgery done ? What happens after the surgery do I have to wait in the waiting room again just because there is no space ?
