"Heartfelt thanks to all"

About: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre / Ward B5 Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I wrote recently about my very positive experiences in several Glasgow hospitals. Since then I have been admitted to Ward B5 at the Beatson, really quite ill and in dire need of medical care following chemo.

I cannot omit praise for all the staff there. As well as the on site medical staff I include the domestic staff and the paramedics. As in the other hospitals previously mentioned, everything was spotlessly clean and this was maintained frequently by friendly and pleasant staff.

I was very frightened when I became so ill and as soon as the very efficient and caring paramedics arrived at my home they reassured me and I felt safe with them from there on through my time with them and throughout my few days with the excellent staff of the Beatson B5.

I would be most grateful if you could pass on my heartfelt thanks to all. Not forgetting the very helpful and patient lady on the Beatson Cancer Helpline who had the ambulance at my door with no delay. .   .

Dear JK66,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us some feedback on your experience with Scottish Ambulance Service Staff: I hope that you have recovered well from your recent admission to the Beatson.

We always appreciate it when we are able to provide some feedback to our staff on how their interaction with patients has been received, as it is a good opportunity for us to learn.

If you are willing to share your name, address and date of admission I will be able to identify the staff involved and pass on your thanks. I can be contacted on wendyquinn@nhs.net, if you wish to share this detail.

Thank you again.

Wendy

Dear JK66,

I recall your earlier feedback and was very sorry to read that you had to be admitted to ward B5 at the Beatson. This has clearly been a frightening time for you as you describe and I am all the more grateful to receive your very kind feedback.

I was very reassured to hear that the Beatson Cancer Helpline was swift to respond and ensure you were in very good hands with the paramedics who took you safely to B5.

I know the Senior Charge Nurse and her team work very hard to ensure high standards of care and attention are provided to every patient. This includes the domestic staff who maintain the cleanliness of the ward.

I will pass on your kind words to all staff in B5 and the Helpline who will be grateful for this feedback. On behalf of all the team, I would like to take the opportunity to wish you well with any further treatment and thank you again for taking the time to send this feedback in.

Kind Regards

Elaine Burt
