Recently, I got cellulitis in my arm which lead to me being very unwell at home with fevers and sickness. I ended up having to phone NHS 24 on two separate occasions and see the out of hours GP at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on two separate occasions for antibiotics. I have nothing but praise to offer for the wonderful staff who I spoke to on the phone at NHS 24 who appropriately directed my care to the out of hours GP service at the Royal Infirmary where I received wonderful service and treatment from the out of hours GP. I honestly cannot praise the service high enough, NHS 24 is a wonderful service which saw me treated in a timely manner and helped me avoid a& e. I was seen very quickly at the out of hours GP and was treated with dignity and compassion. Thankfully with a week long course of antibiotics and some rest at home my arm has healed and I avoided a hospital admission. It is a wonderful service which has very dedicated staff who deliver excellent care to their patients.
