"Crohns and how it took 4 yrs to get on treatment."

About: Tameside General Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I had to go through X rays, MRI scans, STD tests (why I don't have a clue) operations to have a drain fitted - eventually,  I had been telling my doctor at the hospital I had a lump since it was really small but they took no notice and nothing was done about it till it got bigger, then I had to go through it all again when the drain came out .

Next I was told - you are  going on this treatment and given the info, only to be put on another treatment and not given any info at all. I do know I am not the only person to go through this but I am now on my 3rd lot of treatment don't feel a lot better for it and I feel so lost. I've now been told that I will have further doses of the treatment every 8 weeks but not how long this will go on for, I've had no advice on diet lifestyle or anything from anyone and only know bits from what I've read on the internet.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experince, I am sorry to hear of the difficulties that you have had. It is disappointing to hear that you do not feel any better following previous courses of treatment and that your experinces have left you feeling lost.

I would really appreciate it if you could contact a member of the PALS and Complaints Team directly so we can discuss these issues in more detail and help direct your comments towards the right staff members. It may be possible to arrange an appointment for you, or to arrange for a member of the clinical team to contact you directly. The PALS and Complaints Team can be contacted on 0161 922 4466 and a member of the Team will be able to take more details and look into this for you.

kind regards, Alexia
