"Not a good experience "

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

On that day I had my first midwife appointment, I was told to go to the early pregnant unit after because my baby heartbeat was slow prior to the visit and I was spotting which I told her, she said it is a walk in so I could go after. I went to the early pregnancy unit and the receptionist staff was so rude to me I felt as if I was begging to be looked after , she rolled her eyes st me because she said there is only one doctor working and I said I will wait all day if I have to and she was sighing as well so unprofessional. I worked in a trust also and because I work the Antenatal clinic and I know everyone I did not want to have my child there but I am hoping I did not make the wrong decision because. I know not all staff are same but I really felt let down and I wasn’t seen after waiting over two hours and to go back to my trust to ask one of the consultant to scan me to make sure the baby was fine.

Dear Lisa. Thanks for writing to us and apologies for the delay in responding. I wonder if it would be helpful for you to talk to one of our midwifery managers about your experience in the early pregnancy unit. I know that the managers would be concerned about the attitude you had from the reception staff. Let me know if you would like to follow this up - in the meantime, I will pass your comments onto the relevant manager so that they can take the matter up with the reception staff. I am glad that you have alerted us to this and sorry that you had this experience.
