"Praise for ward"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Surgery (Ward 5)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Care and treatment has been good. Staff very friendly and professional. "A wee bit of banter which made it better"

Came from A& E, was there for 5 hours. Staff came and spoke to me but not very often. Communication broke down between A&E and ward as patient was unaware she was being admitted until nurse on the ward told her.

Ms Mcglynn (consultant) was excellent and communication skills were first class. Domestic staff cleaned well.

Food- it is a hospital and what do you expect. Patient was happy with food.

Only thing that could be improved is the waiting time for discharge meds.

Can only say when Ms McGlynn came to see patient this morning she came prepared with a medical certificate and follow up appointment........ Fantastic service.

Hostess (Pollish) should be commended.

Dear UHH130,

Thanks for taking the time to post the feedback above based on behalf of a patient who I hope has the chance to to read this response. I will highlight this to both Miss McGlynn and the whole team on the ward who I know will be delighted to learn that they had such a positive impact.

Thanks very much for your understanding around some of the issues which you experienced which were not ideal.

I hope you continue to recover well following your stay at Hairmyres.

Kind Regards

Cameron
