"No choice but to discharge myself"

About: Salisbury District Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

Absolutely horrendous. Care was disgraceful, just about non existent, apart from a few staff members. The rotten food, black cauliflower, of course wasn't their fault. But when just a few days after my op, my Stoma bag burst, I asked for a bowl of water, a staff member just pointed to the bathroom, even though I was covered from neck to feet in poo. They walked away. Staff had the lights on about midnight and were being noisy until about 4 am. I had no choice but to discharge myself. Yet in the letter to my GP surgery, not only did they make several general mistakes, there were inaccuracies about the discharge. I could go on and on, the whole experience was a nightmare.
