I visited Stafford Hospital for a procedure and later realised that I had left my gold crucifix and chain in the unit. I had little hope of recovering it. I telephoned Stafford twice and was timed out. On the third time I was put through to a department that did not answer and the the fourth time I was put through to an answering machine. I left my query on the machine. By this time I became tetchy at big organisations and mentally gave up hope. The loss was a Christmas present and precious to me. Amazingly someone rang me back within the hour to ask me what the problem was and I explained and left it with the lady. 10 minutes later I was contacted to say it had been found. I have now the crucifix hanging around my neck and cannot thank the department enough. I have to say the blame lies fairly and squarely on my shoulders and my carelessness and not the fault of Stafford Hospital who were wonderful. Whilst I think the telephone procedures could be massaged a little how many times can it be possible to say thank you to them. You have made a huge difference leaving me very happy. My initial procedure was very professional and friendly and I commend this hospital and the cardiology department very highly.
