"Not one person offered any help"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

(as a carer),

After the 98 yr old lady whom I care for, had her small op we decided to have something to eat and drink before making our return journey. Unfortunately the elderly lady spilt a whole cup of coffee over herself which fortunately I had put some milk in to cool it otherwise might have been a different story and the most amazing part that I am struggling to deal with is not one person offered any help even a nurse who was in the queue! ! considering we were in a hospital there was no concern by anyone.   I had to ask the people in the cafe for something to clean my lady with and the 2 pieces of tissue were totally inadequate so I used my scarf. What a sad world we live in

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments on this website.

I am sorry to read of the inaction of bystanders you experienced following the incident you have described.

I was also sorry to learn that the amount of tissues supplied was inadequate for the task and that you felt you had to use your scarf to help the lady you care for.

I would be very grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 to talk about your specific experience, and to see how we may be able to assist you at this time.

Kind regards

Anthony Banton
