Paramedics and A&E staff are superb even though there was a 4 hour wait in a trolley in the corridor the staff were always polite and informative 5 stars. However, once transferred to AMU it was all down ill, skeleton staff who do not seem to communicate, the sister looking after my dad did not make sure he was on a drip or have adequate pain relief even tho he could not eat or drink and was in severe pain, this ward does not even get one star in my view, later he was moved to ward 15, I cannot fault ward 15 the nurses, sisters, doctors, physio therapist and health care staff were very informative and professional apart from 1! A health care worker who seems to have forgotten her bed side manner! She pulled at my dads arm ( which caused him so much pain)to take his blood pressure without even speaking to him, he could lift his own arm at his own pace without causing any extra pain and discomfort, when I asked her nicely to be a little more gentle she gave me a mouthful and said she didn’t have to stand for this and was getting the sister, I’m glad she did as once I explained she was removed but unfortunately she has gone on to look after somebody else’s loved one! So I think I need to report her officially for the sake of others, so I do have mixed feelings about this hospital because over time I’ve had a mixture of dealings . The NHS really need to be more careful when employing people as some are in it for the money and others are in it for the money but also genuinely do care for others.
