"Dedicated multidisciplinary team"

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital

My sister had a collapse at work on the 4th Oct 2019 after having a subarachnoid haemorrhage, she was given excellent cpr at her work and was taken to the LGI, she was ventilated and as a family the Drs prepared us that her bleed was so big they thought she would never regain consciousness, as a family we were prepared for the worst, she stayed at the LGI till the January 2019, she couldn’t walk, talk, eat, she was hoisted out of bed to her chair as her right side had no movement, they immediately started her rehab when she was stronger and started to slightly move and acknowledge her right side. She was transferred to Chapel Allerton in the January for her next stage of rehab, the multidisciplinary team gave my sister some goals to achieve each meeting we had as a family, she achieved every one of them, all the dedicated team have helped her to walk, climb stairs, get dressed, laugh and talk again, shes back having the food she loves again, and becoming more independent each week, On the 22nd Oct she’s going to the next stage of intense neuro rehab to the Daniel Yorath House where she will have much more intense rehab, preparing her for coming home, what an amazing team at chapel Allerton and the LGI we are all so grateful to you all, thank you to each one of you who’s looked after her, your care and compassion have been 110 percent.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us; please accept my sincerest thanks for your kind and generous words.

I am delighted to read that we were able to help your sister in her recovery and I hope her rehabilitation continues well and that her independence grows. I am very happy to know that she is now doing well and I hope her all the best for the future.

I have taken the liberty of sharing your wonderful words of support and encouragement with the matron for rehabilitation at Chapel Allerton Hospital. I have asked that your comments are shared with all the teams. I know they will all be exceptionally pleased to know they delivered the care that met you and your sister's expectations.

With kind regards
