A MASSIVE thank you to the team of doctors and nurses on ward 114 CCU at the Royal in Edinburgh.
My colleague and right hand woman at work had a Heart Attack in August, as a young woman, this shocked the life out of us all. Having seen her during the day of her heart attack, you would never have known anything was wrong, it was just a normal day and she wasn’t unwell, to receive a message that evening to say she was in hospital having had a Heart Attack, it was total disbelief.I cannot thank the team of Doctors enough, you worked very quickly which has saved her life and I and the rest of her team cannot than you enough, also all the wonderful nurses who looked after her on ward 114, she has spoken so highly of the care she got from you all and you don’t know how important that has been in her recovering so well, thank you all for making sure she came back to us.Any event with hearts is a worrying time but when its someone you know, it’s terrifying, shocking and unbelievable and very scary how quick something like this can rob you of someone special, thankfully you made sure that did not happen this time around, that’s all thanks to the incredible team in Cardiology, never underestimate the work you do.We were in even more disbelief when she walked back in to work as you would never have known what she had just been through, she made a rapid recovery and that’s down to the doctors quick actions and the care she got from you all, and thank goodness you found the diabetes as well, it sounds as if she was about to become very ill with this however your early catching of this has been so important, she’s had bit of a battle with this but I’m glad to say she took some time out to focus on that and put her health first and I’m glad to say she feels she’s winning, thank you for again saving her life with your investigations and tests.Id also like to say a big well done to her Consultant, Mr Northridge, in 10 years of knowing her she’s never listened to me as her boss !! (she tells me she suffers from selective hearing in whatever ear im ranting in) 😊 so well done to that man on getting her to listen and make changes which I’m glad to say she has, she’s always been a positive and very strong minded person and if anyone could bounce back from this then it would be her, so I’m pleased to say she’s made really positive changes for herself on the back of your advice and also for all her staff and team members as well, its been a huge kick up the you know what for us all and a realization that sometimes we all let work take over, she’s making sure that changes for us all.I’m pleased to say it has made us all more aware of our hearts and how we need to take more care of ourselves and got us all talking about our hearts, and she has been fantastic in answering hundreds of our questions from people and passing on the knowledge and information she got from the Doctors and Nurses who cared for her, lots of changes being implemented as a result of what happened so she’s very much turning a negative into a positive for us all.Your knowledge, care, listening is invaluable, you really are an incredible team. Thanks for giving our wing woman back, she can even put the heating on as high as she likes and we wont moan…. And she can put the Christmas tree up early if she likes and we wont rant at her…. After what happened, we are just so thankful and glad she is still around to keep us all going, just wouldn’t be the same without her and that’s thanks to all of you on the ward.Thank you from me and from all her team, we will be forever grateful to you all.
"What a team !"
