"My febrile convulsion"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

I had a convulsion at home and I had to be rushed to hospital with my mum.

I cannot remember much of what happened, but I know it was a bad experience.

I didn’t want to come to hospital and was very worried and scared about it all. Thank stayed over night, as I arrived late at night, and felt much better in the morning, but suddenly got ill again and was very sick on my hospital room floor.

All the staff were very happy and nice to me.

I was allowed to stay for my custard and was then allowed to go home. I was told I could come back to the ward in the next 24 hours if I felt poorly again.

I hope I don’t have another convulsion as I don’t like them..... or being sick!

We are really sorry to hear that you have had a convulsion, it is must have been very scary for you, but are glad that you are now at home and feeling better.

Hospital can be a bit scary but now that you have been here with us I hope that if you have to come & see us again you wont be so worried.

We will let the staff know how nice they were to you.
