"He is better than he's been for a long time"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Physiotherapy

(as a relative),

My 92-year-old father was admitted with a chest infection and was unable to stand after collapsing.   He had mobility problems prior to his admission but his inability to weight bear was concerning.

The standard of nursing from Laura and the other nurses during the two weeks he was there was outstanding.  The nurses were busy but he received individual, attentive care; everyone was very kind.

His back is now straighter - which must be accredited to the physiotherapists and OTs as well.  He is better than he's been for a long time.  It is difficult to thank all the health professions in Ward 10 enough.

The ward was clean and fresh.

Dear Kitty M,

Thank you very much for taking the time to post about your Father's care and therapy input he received, whilst he was an in-patient on ward 10.

I am glad to hear you feel he is doing so well and hope he continues to maintain this when he's at home.

I shall pass on your kind words to Kirsty The Occupational therapist,

kind regards

Fiona Cross

Dear Kitty M,

Thanks you for your very kind comments and I am delighted that your father is improving.

We expect our nursing staff to deliver a high standard of care, and its reassuring when families post that this is what is being achieved despite the staff being busy.

I will ensure your lovely post is shared with the nursing team in particular with Laura.

Kind regards to you and your father.

Janice
