"truly appalling patient care. Consistently lied…"

About: University Hospitals Of Leicester NHS Trust

I was sent to the ED dept. By my GP after I became ill following surgery. Despite the GP contacting orthopaedics who instructed that I come straight down for admission, and writing a letter I waited over three hours. Once in ED they were very quick to deal with me and arranged admission to A ward. From this point I can honestly say I had the worst 36 hours of my life, from asking several times over night for pain relief which only appeared when I asked for the duty manager, I was then told I would be put on a drip to bring down my temp (39.2) this never happened, a consultant that came to see me the next morning once he realised my initial surgery was carried out in Nottingham just wanted to get rid of me. I was told transport was booked for that day then told at night it had been cancelled by the receiving hospital which was a lie. The receiving hospital expected me by two that day and had arranged a theatre. I was then told transport had been rebooked for 7am the next day. My wound was not checked at any point and while there the infection got worse. Ambulance turned up at 9am, when I mentioned the 7am time I had been told they told me the ward had booked a 9am pick up ( yet another lie). Absolutely disgusting patient care and without any doubt the worst hospital I have ever been in. It’s about 15 years since I was in a Uhl hospital and standards have not improved one bit.
