From an early age, I thought I had a big, purple raisin growing on my leg behind my left knee. Finally, at the ripe old age of 76, I saw my GP about it. I was then sent to an NHS facility in Falkirk where the "thing" was photographed. (I could have taken a "selfie" and reduced the cost). This was passed to a consultant Dermatologist decided it was a seborrheic keratosis (the medical term for the big, purple raisin) and arranged to have it removed. This was done a few weeks later at the Forth Valley Hospital, Dermatology Department, by David and Lauriann. Their term for the procedure was "Curettage & Cautery" - which sounds like something to do with gourmet cookery. However, I was in and out and minus the "thing" within half an hour. They were very efficient, explained the procedure and aftercare I there was no pain or discomfort. Thank you NHS
"Having a purple mole removed."
