"Attentive and resourceful"

About: Chelsea & Westminster Hospital / Accident and emergency Chelsea & Westminster Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I went into A&E and then Acute Assessment Unit and stayed there for 3 days. Words can't describe how grateful I am for the care I've received. Nurses and the medical staff were incredibly attentive and resourceful. Despite them being stretched and at times stressed (people in some sort of pain or discomfort can be difficult and I've seen examples of that first hand) they cared, and nothing can compare to that.

The gentleman who did all my initial setting up was absolutely amazing, Alison that was taking care of me on the first day was just a beam of sunshine, and the very last nurse who took care of me was caring like a mother, not to mention amazing Ia who is one of the very few people I don't mind waking me up at night :)

The doctors deserve a separate recognition as they were professional, responsive and it felt like they took the situation in charge. Dr Banerjee was incredibly positive and reassuring, and Dr Flower and Dr Davies provided me with all the guidance and direction I needed at that time.

With regards to the procedures, those were some of most efficiently organised ones I've seen. I had a chest X-ray in about 10 minutes including getting there from my hospital bed and back, I had MRI scans as an outpatient and everyone has been incredible, from reception staff to MRI lab technicians (I hope that's roughly what they're called - I mean people who prep you for the scan).

All in all, for the first time in my life I think I'm happy paying taxes if they fund organisations like Chelsea and Westminster hospital. Thank you again for all the help.
