"Shoulder surgery"

About: Three Shires Hospital

I know this review is going to be a complete waste of my time but I have to express my opinion.

Being a self employed tradesman I rely on being able to work to live and being off for 6-7 weeks in recovery is a massive deal . you have to book your customers in accordingly for when you expect to be back at work and sort out financially how you are going to survive.

I have been in pain for months with a ruptured tendon and osteoarthritis in my shoulder so I really needed this opp to go ahead swiftly.

Firstly I had my opp date moved 3 times which meant I had to re organise all my customers which was a real headache.

On my opp date I attended the three shires at 1pm as instructed .

Guided to my room and was then visited by the surgeon and anaesthetic , signed all the relevant documentation and then to be told I would be sent for between 3 & 3.30 to be taken to theatre.

5.30 a nurse came in and said sorry for the delay and then you guess it , 6pm it was cancelled!

To say I am absolutely furious when I’m told they can’t give me another date soon and the surgeon is on holiday the next week is an understatement!

You prepare yourself physically ,mentally & financially to go through this big deal and now I am back at square one.

In fact I have now got to find work for the next six weeks as I’ve cancelled all of my clients.

Having surgery cancelled is NOT like cancelling a car service !

I am now faced with having to put up with this pain for the foreseeable future as i can’t face dealing with going through all this again .

I know thinks go wrong in surgery and sometimes operations can take longer than expected but there should be things put into place to deal with all eventualities, even if it means having the surgery the following day ???

But no, at the end of the day the patients definitely don’t come first here .
