"Visit to A&E and admission to MAU"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

(as the patient),

I went to A&E following advice from my GP in East Cowes. I am a woman of 71 and had quite severe chest pain. The Triage Nurse Lena saw me promptly, was friendly and reassuring and did an ECG. I was taken through to A&E where 2 further ECGs were carried out by excellent staff. I then saw Dr Noreen who requested an Xray, CT Scan and blood tests for me. Nurse Kaycee was so kind and professional. It is rather unfair to single out any of the excellent staff who were on duty that night but Dr Noreen was exceptional and deserves merit. Early Saturday morning I was moved to MAU where again I can't praise all the staff enough. I was eventually discharged home on Saturday evening with information about future care. A&E was extremely busy that night but it was awesome to see all the staff working as a team and managing to create such a warm and positive atmosphere. Please pass on my grateful thanks and best wishes to all on duty that night.

Dear Anthony Boatbuilder

Thank you for taking the time to post this valuable feedback about your recent experience of our services, which I will share with the teams in ED & MAU, especially the staff you have mentioned.

I am pleased to read that you were treated promptly and that staff were friendly and reassuring, and worked as a great team. I do hope that you are continuing to recover well following your stay with us.
