I had an appointment for a CT Colonography today at the Imaging dept at the New Victoria in Glasgow. I suffer from panic and anxiety and have a particular fear of hospitals, especially going in CT or MRI scanners. I had been very uncomfortable in the run up to this appointment. Had i known how wonderful the staff were going to be i wouldn't have worried as much as i did. I had called in advance to ask if i could take diazepam before i came in. I was met with a lovely lady called Marie who done everything to keep me calm, she explained that the team knew i was coming in and had the anxiety/panic issues. I was then seen by Derek to have my cannula inserted, first person to manage it in first go and again went out his way to make me calm. Then i was seen with the two ladies Julie and Nicola who were doing all the necessary tests. They were patient, caring and went out their way to explain everything that i asked, also kept me occupied during things i felt uncomfortable with. Relieved to say that i managed the test with no panic and little anxiety thanks to a wonderful group of people. Thank you Julie, Nicola, Marie & Derek.
"Thank you imaging staff"
