"Speech and Language"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Adult Speech and Language Therapy

(as a parent/guardian),

I've had around 4 years experience with speech and language in North Lanarkshire and each one has been extremely helpful and supportive.

Staff attitude

Staff attitude

When my child was first discharged, a few months later I was concerned and contacted the speech and language and Leigh was assigned to meet with us. Very quickly Leigh got to know us and worked on a plan that suited us and provided lots of helpful tips. Visits to nursery/school and at the clinic helped us to progress and Leigh checked in with us regularly to ensure we were happy with the progress and offer support where needed and adapt any learning styles to suit.

Involved in decisions

Involved in decisions

Decisions are still outstanding out with speech and language but I am extremely grateful for the support I received from Leigh as she has given me additional knowledge and strength to cope with the next steps....whatever they may be.

Speech and language therapy provides treatment, support and care for children and adults who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing.

Dear Everyday is a school day

Thank you very much for taking the time to feedback on your experiences of Speech and Language Therapy and especially your very kind words about Leigh. I love that you have used the Talking Mats format and that you feel happy with staff attitude, keeping in touch and being involved in decisions about your child. I think this is tremendously important for parents. I hope that you can continue to work with your therapist and nursery/school and that your child continues to be supported in the best way possible.

Kindest Regards

Pauline
