"2 Broken Wrists"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine

(as the patient),

I was admitted to a & e on my birthday, I fell over my dog when I was out walking (not a scratch or cuts) landed on my hands and the result was 2 broken wrists.

I am now in a plaster cast and completely useless wouldn’t wish this on anyone, the hospital staff was so so very nice and kind and explained every move that they were going to do ,much impressed

thanks

Dear edie

Thanks for sharing your recent experience when you attended A&E.

Definitely not the best way to spend your birthday but pleased to read that the staff looking after you were informative and keep you updated.

It's bad enough breaking 1 wrist but to break both sounds a real challenge. I hope you have people around to help you and that the bones mend soon allowing you to get the plaster casts off.

I will share your feedback directly with the staff in A&E.

Please take care and hopefully once you are out of the casts you will be able to celebrate your birthday properly.

With kind regards

Fiona Robertson

Chief Nurse
