"Quantock ward-Feel Involved"

About: Rampton Hospital / Personality Disorder Pathway

(as the patient),

Quantock ward. I do feel involved in my ward round and have more input into it. You could improve the personal individual treatment to have more support in possible more activities. Caring yes when we get more things to do and more information on this would be good. We definitely have a sense of community on the ward. Safe, right amount of staff, no I don’t think we do have the right amount. You need more recruiting being done. More staff around would aid good communication. I need more information on pathways and I would like to see staff give us more dignity, having more support for medication perhaps

Thank you for this posting. It's great that you feel involved in your ward round. I note what you say about staffing. We regularly review ward establishments to ensure that we keep up with what is required. We over recruit some staff groups in order to cover recruitment issues elsewhere. Perhaps you could discuss the need for more information on pathways with your named nurse.

Best wishes.

Peter

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

As Peter states, it is great that you feel involved in your ward round as this is a pivotal meeting around your care.

In terms of recruitment, the hospital do have a robust strategy and we review what each ward needs on a regular basis.

In terms of the issue you raise around dignity, would it be possible for you to speak with your ward manager about this?

Kind regards

Kerry
