"Avoid!!! Huge funding issues, extremely poor care"

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

I was admitted into this hospital for a week and put on a ward that didn’t deal with my problems (overcrowding). It was really, really filthy. Not enough staff. Staff running around like crazy, it’s impossible for them to care for patients properly. I witnessed staff in tears over the system. Too many bank nurses who didn’t care. No communication between staff. Not enough doctors at night. Hospital closes down over the weekend so you are just left in a bed, not good when you have a young family. No support for vulnerable adults. There needs to be a manager on each ward at all times to oversee everything. On the plus side the consultants were lovely and explained everything. It’s such a shame as a year ago this hospital was a lot better compared to now. I would avoid and go to Aintree or Whiston.
