"A nice discovery"

About: St Lukes Hospice

(as the patient),

Have been diagnosed with cancer in the stomach and ovary. This was 18 months ago. As soon as I heard the word hospice I thought of death but it is anything but that. But when I come to St Luke’s it lifts my spirits. The staff are wonderful as are the volunteers. The food is lovely and the therapies are fantastic. I have tried the music therapy and reflexology. I am a different person when I leave.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of St Luke's Hospice with Care Opinion. Here at St Luke's Hospice we recognise that for many people hearing the word hospice can make them feel anxious. In your case the term hospice made you think of death. With our focus being on enabling people to live well with their illness the St Luke's Hospice team work hard to create an environment that is positive and therapeutic for physical, emotional and spiritual well being. We are delighted to hear that when you attend St Luke's your spirits are lifted. I will pass on your comments to all staff including the catering team and the therapists.
