My elderly and very sick Mother had a gynae procedure 18th Sept 2019. The gynae staff were just wonderful. This procedure didn't go well as there is something very wrong. The wonderful consultant that conducted this procedure told me, my Mother needed an urgent MRI scan with contrast, we received a letter saying the same. My Mother was given an MRI appt within days; she had the MRI today, I asked if she had been given an injection or a drink, she said no. I spoke to a nurse in the imaging dept saying the consultant said my Mother need an MRI with contrast, the nurse said your mother doesn't need a contrast, the radiologists know more than the dr's in the clinic. The nurse was curt, I felt suitably told off, I don't feel easy about this decision. If the consultant wanted a contrast it was for a particular reason. If there is a new way of giving contrasts a kind explanation would have been welcome. I will try to follow this up with my Mothers consultant...
