"Amazing care"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Respiratory Medicine (Ward 17)

(as a service user),

I visited my GP as I hadn’t been feeling great. I mainly put this down to being 16 weeks pregnant but once I explained my symptoms my GP was on the ball and sent me to Monklands to rule out the possibility of a PE.

I was seen very quickly when I arrived at Monklands and was quickly taken to ambulatory care where I was assessed and had appropriate tests carried out. The staff here were fantastic at keeping me up to date and putting my mind at ease. Unfortunately I had to be admitted awaiting a Doppler and a CT scan. Later that evening I was admitted to ward 17 and the staff could not have nicer.

During my stay in ward 17 the staff were so considerate of how I was feeling and ensured I had privacy when I was upset. All nursing staff and doctor Emma went above and beyond to put my mind at ease. I was very concerned at this point about the health of my baby and they organised a scan for me to check everything was ok. So a big massive thank you to them for that as this totally put my mind at ease. Can’t fault the care I received! All the staff are an absolute credit to the NHS and I can’t thank them enough for all the care, support and compassion I received.

A big thank you to Michelle, Ashleigh, Emma (doctor) and everyone else involved in my care.

Dear MMC93

Thank you so much for your very kind posting on Care Opinion. As the Senior Nurse for Ward 17, I will ensure your post is shared with all the staff. I was so pleased to read that the care delivered in the ward was of a high standard and delivered with compassion. This is the person centred care we aim to deliver every day to all our patients and I appreciate that there is an added worry when you are pregnant.

I hope you are keeping well and wish you all the very best in your pregnancy.

Kindest regards

Eileen
